Every year I have the pleasure of spending a week in the Outer Banks of North Carolina to enjoy the beach and do some fishing. This year the conditions were tough with wind and rain taking up much of the week. Luckily, I did get a few fishing windows and capitalized on my opportunities. On this trip I am kayak fishing for speckled trout in the Pamlico Sound. I have found that popping corks paired with a variety of soft plastic baits work excellent for trout while fishing over grass beds. The bite wasn't red hot, but I did catch some very nice fish.
