The 2025-2026 cycle of the CFA Russia Research Challenge formally opened in November 2025, operating within the established rules framework that has provided consistent governance for the competition over fifteen consecutive years. Since 2010, the CFA Association Russia has hosted this prestigious annual event, serving as a crucial proving ground for finance and economics undergraduates across Russia and neighbouring states.

The competition rigorously incorporates industry oversight: CFA Charterholders and candidates are tasked with providing mentorship to participating student teams or acting as expert adjudicators for the final equity research reports on a key Russian-listed issuer.

The official season launch, the Research Challenge Kick-Off, was staged on the evening of November 24th at the Novotel Kievskaya in Moscow. The Association welcomed the incoming cohort, setting the stage for the intense valuation work ahead.

The event’s highlight was a presentation by Konstantin Gedymin, Director of Investor Relations at PJSC Henderson Fashion Group (HNFG). Mr. Gedymin provided a detailed breakdown of the firm’s investment case, establishing HNFG as this year’s Subject Company and addressing the preliminary technical and strategic questions facing the student analysts as they begin their deep-dive due diligence.
