NSW Rail Museum held it’s annual Day Out With Thomas event for the second time for 2025, celebrating the 80th Anniversary of Thomas & Friends over two weeks from Friday, August 29th to Sunday, August 31st and Friday, September 5th to Sunday, September 7th, 2025.

Activities Included:
• Steam Locomotive 2705 as James - Thirlmere to Buxton Shuttles
• CPH Railmotor No.18 as Toby - Thirlmere Station to the Roundhouse Shuttles
• Steam Locomotive 1803 as Thomas the Tank Engine On Display/Cab Visits
• Miniature Train Rides with Thomas and James
• Static Displays dressed as Emily, Percy and Hiro inside the Museum
• Photo Opportunities with Sir Topham Hatt
& Much More!

This was our first time attending the event since the recent changes, with the All Engines Go theming moving away from the classic faces that had been used for several years prior. Along with Steam Locomotive 3001 as Donald being replaced Steam Locomotive 2705 now as James. Which i wanna give prise to the volunteers at the NSW Rail Museum for restoring 2705 as James, he looks splendid.
