At the Inferno Metal Festival in Oslo, Norway, I got to sit down with my friend the fantastic Kim Dylla, metal vocalist an designer Kim "Kylla" Dylla, of Kylla Custom Rock Wear.
As a performer Dylla has played with GWAR as Vulvatron, and in The Burned Over, Cruachan, Ekktoplasm, and many more, she has been a wrestler at Richmond Lucha Libre, and designed stage and ringwear for clients such as Alice Cooper, Journey, Rob Zombie, Machine Head, Arch Enemy, Candlemass, Kreator, King Diamond, black metal bands like Watain, Tsjuder, 1349, Mayhem, Enslaved, Satyricom, Abbath, Naglfar, and for WWE and AEW wrestlers like Randy Orton, Braun Strowman, Chris Jericho, Damian Priest, Erick Rowan, Bray Wyatt, and many more.
While drawing her portrait we talked about how she got into designing clothes and music and a little bit about the bands she's worked with, about how we perceive our own art, and about theme park caricature art.
Kylla Custom Rock Wear makes custom yet affordable clothes that's meant to be used in the ring, on the stage, and on the road. There's both a ready wear collection and custom ordering. I know where I'll get my gear if I ever get ring ready for wrestling.
