Goddess Parvati Avatar Shitala Devi ENDS Smallpox #shorts #facts #krishna #shiv #hanuman
Once upon a time, in the divine realms, Goddess Shitala was born from the cooling energy of Maa Parvati. She was sent to Earth with a divine purpose—to protect people from diseases, especially smallpox, fever, and epidemics.
Shitala Devi, carrying a pot filled with healing water and riding on a donkey, traveled from village to village, curing those who suffered from deadly illnesses. Wherever she sprinkled her sacred water, people were instantly healed, and the air became pure.
However, a powerful demon named Jwarasura (the Lord of Fevers) wanted to spread suffering. He unleashed smallpox upon the land, making people cry in pain. Seeing this, Goddess Shitala confronted him, but Jwarasura laughed, believing his disease had no cure.
With divine radiance, Shitala Mata opened her pot and poured the sacred water upon the Earth. In an instant, the disease vanished, and people were freed from suffering. Jwarasura, realizing her immense power, fell at her feet and begged for mercy. Shitala Devi, in her infinite kindness, forgave him but warned that diseases would return if people ignored cleanliness and devotion.
Since then, devotees worship Shitala Mata, especially in rural areas, believing that she cures diseases, protects children, and purifies the environment. Even today, during Shitala Saptami, devotees offer cooling foods like curd and rice, praying for protection against fevers and infections.
Thus, Shitala Devi remains the guardian of health, purity, and healing, blessing those who seek her divine grace. 🙏
