Hi friends,

Today I have brought you a basic recipe of Garam masala, the Indian Spice Mix. It's included in almost every other recipes.This one goes well with both south Indian and north Indian dishes. This is a recipe for 200gms of powder.

Garam masala from garam ("hot") and masala (a mixture of spices) is a blend of ground spices, originating from South Asia, common in Indian, Nepalese, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan and Afghan cuisines. It is used alone or with other seasonings.

Here's the list of ingredients required :-
• Coriander seeds - 3/4th cup
• Cumin seeds (Jeera) - 1/2 cup
• Caraway seeds (shah Jeera) - 1 teaspoon
• Black Pepper - 2 tablespoon
• Dried red chillis - 3nos.
• Cinnamon stick - 3"
• Star anise - 3-4( optional)
• Mace (javitri / jathipatri) - 1 teaspoon
• Nutmeg - 1 no.
• Green cardamom - 3 tablespoon
• Cloves - 1 tablespoon
• Fennel seeds - 2 tablespoon
• Bay leaf - 5 nos
