My Season as a United Fan...1989/90

The 1989/90 season for United will go down as the first season we won a trophy under Fergie but it was much more than that. On the surface, it was generally awful, humiliated in the League Cup, our lowest top flight finish since our relegation in the 1970's and 16 league games without scoring - we had only slightly more than breathing space between our finish and the drop.
However, that Cup win, or more accurately, that 3rd Round tie at Nottingham Forest, have gone down in United folklore with many Reds as a, 'Sliding Door' moment, an event in time that had it gone differently everything not only at United, but in English and European football, could have changed immeasurably.
