PALANGAN.
Stone houses in the heart of the mountains.

It is special because the roof of one house serves as the courtyard of the upper house. If you have longer time you can also checkout other mountain villages in Kurdistan, that has similar stucture. Hawraman, is another interesting village to see, a bit closer to Iraqi border.


HOW TO GET HERE:
Easiest way is to take a bus, share taxi from Kermanshah to Kamyaran, then taxi straight to Palangan.

In our case, we walked a bit towards Kermanshah outskirt (route 21) to Kamyaran. It's bit tougher to catch a car in big cities, especially a lot of taxi driver will stop and offer you their ride. It's a bit useless to speak in English, because they will just nod and you'll ended up in a Taxi. So best is to know a few words in Farsi, especialy "manjani = for free".

Stop at Kamyaran, then take a route to Palangan. Again, best is to walk bit further out, to make sure people are driving towards your destination and start waving your luck.
