Trump talks economy, tax cuts and inflation

Former President Donald Trump touts his economic record and criticizes President Joe Biden's policies.

Trump says his presidency marked the strongest economy in US history and maybe the history of the world. Economic strength can be measured in a number of ways. A common measure is GDP. According to Investopedia, Trump's overall average for GDP was 2.3%. That number was greatly hampered by the COVID pandemic, which was largely responsible for a -3.7% GDP in his final year in office. However, even accounting for that, other presidents, including FDR, JFK, LBJ, Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton saw larger growth in GDP than did Trump.
