It is VERY rare to see these AWESOME things still in action! These were installed around 1979-1980 to replace the older Mercury Vapor GE Form 109’s, M400’s, AEL Model 13’s, Westinghouse Silver-liners, etc. The originals for these newer 1979-1980 Variants are GE M-400’s.

Some were later replaced with American Electric Model 25’s, 115’s, and 125’s. Some were replaced with newer GE M400’s, Newer M250’s, and Crouse-Hinds L-250 Luminaires.

They still had some older Mercury Vapor GE Form 109’s, Westinghouse Silver-liners, GE M400’s, AEL Model 13’s, etc. on neighboring roads and backroads such as HWY 41, and some other roads to come. At the beginning of the video, you can see some older street poles. Those were the ones that they used to house those older models. Unfortunately they took them down and put LED on them.

These are famous streetlights, they’ve been filmed in the 80’s, all the way up to now, and I love seeing the HPS lights still glowing at its best like the Good Ol’ days. I really miss these days man, there wasn’t any cold LED’s, there was just some Warm, Cool glows outside that were very fun and very awesome. I loved playing outside with them, they were very awesome.

People such as ‪@DieselDucy‬ has filmed these streetlights while on the window view of the “1993 Ride On Marta” which shows a CQ311 Car running. I also filmed some of those cars today while in ATL, I’ll post them later, but shoutout to him for filming these as well.

The city has such a warm glow, I just really like it. You can’t deny it, ATL is beautiful. I really like the skyline, The whole thing at night, it just gives off good vibes. Hopefully they keep these and don’t replace them with the LED’s we don’t talk about.

Beautiful skyline though, ATL is beautiful at Day and Night.
