In the early 1990s there were few players in the NFL more productive than Sterling Sharpe. But that all changed on an innocent running play in December of 1994, when Sterling suffered a neck injury that would cut his career short. A standout for the University of South Carolina Gamecocks and an All-Pro for the Green Bay Packers, Sterling was on a Hall of Fame track that his brother Shannon Sharpe eventually followed.
