How Good Can The $10 Wii2HDMI Actually Be?

Описание к видео How Good Can The $10 Wii2HDMI Actually Be?

Turns out pretty darn good to be honest! This is actually using component 480p internally as the basis to upscale and it handles the audio decently well too.

Just remember to check your Wii settings menu for TV Resolution options and double check that it is set to 480p!

Some people might look down on these cheap adapters but the fact is I've used a $50-60 Hyperkin upscaler for the SNES (N64/GameCube) that did a worse job handling both the audio and video conversion this $10 adapter does! That alone is really saying something if you ask me. Look, if you already have Component inputs on your TV just go get some Wii Component cables. That's probably going to look at least as good as this if not better depending on your TV model and the quality of the cables you get. Also, it goes without saying that if you already have some multi-hundred dollar component scaler like the RetroTink 5x Pro or OSSC than obviously this isn't for you either. But for the rest of you, if you're only running the stock composite cables or perhaps like me you have Component cables but your new TV doesn't have the input option than this is a no brainer. The image and audio is honestly quite good for a scaler product under $40-50, let alone one for $10! This will absolutely blow away 480i from composite (or S-Video) and any of those cheap composite to HDMI adapters that people are buying to play their old Wii on their new TV. Remember, most new TV's only have HDMI and so at the end of the day this is really just a cheap and simple solution. The fact it's dirt cheap and actually does a decent job is the real surprise considering other scalers out there for 4x the price that are doing a much worse job!
