Norfolk Southern and CSX trains in one of the best places in America to watch trains. These trains are in Kenova, West Virginia. This video is rumoured to have 8 trains and taken from all kinds of angles. I rode here with Scott @1960gambit on a perfect fall day with plenty of sunshine and temperatures reaching the low 80s.
My favourite part starts at about 10:30 with a train going over the trestle led by Union Pacific Railroad locomotives. While the train is going over the bridge you will see a heavy CSX coal train go under it. That was really awesome!
I also got lucky to catch two trains passing on the trestle. While I was filming one train approaching I could hear the other train coming also and I got the locomotives of both trains passing up high over the city.
Besides a few other trains in the video we also see a little bit of railroad switching at the 4 track railroad crossing in town. I was hoping the train would pass me but it never did. The locomotive did make it past me and reverse with the engineer giving a wave. By the time I decided to get closer to the switching action it was too late.
Don't forget about the night train at the end! I got an epic angle for that one. I climbed up the steps that go up the hill and got a shot of the train approaching after crossing over the Ohio River. This shot was taken with my new camera that is designed for low light use.

The best frequencies here are 161.250 for Norfolk Southern and 160.230 for CSX. I don't recommend using the EOT frequency since there is a freight yard nearby and you will hear it chirping constantly.
