A joint venture by the Queensland and Federal Governments, the Rockhampton Ring Road Project is a major transformative development valued at $1.98 billion. Extending from the Capricorn Highway to the Bruce Highway and the Rockhampton–Yeppoon Road intersection, this major infrastructure project will deliver key benefits and support future economic growth.

As a leading Australian project cargo logistics provider, Transways was engaged to handle 7,000m3 of steel structures for a temporary jetty to be used during the construction phase. This involved leveraging our extensive sea and road freight logistics expertise to move over 220 pieces of cargo from the Port of Hobart to Gladstone by sea, and from Gladstone to site at Rockhampton.

To meet strict maritime standards, the cargo was secured with welding and strapping, and with round-the-clock discharge on arrival in Gladstone, we were able to avoid vessel detention costs. From here, the cargo was moved to a dedicated 5,000m2 laydown area where our team staged, inspected, stored and prepared the cargo for delivery to site. The final stage involved transporting the cargo by road under the supervision of our team of experienced drivers and escorts, and involved standard cargo sizes and oversized cargo to ensure that each delivery (which had its own unique set of requirements) arrived on site safely and on time.
