Full Scale Delta 8 THC Reaction

Have a look inside the Hemp Industry and see how BDX Labs makes Delta 8 THC at commercial scales. There are many specific details that I cannot reveal because they are proprietary, however, we are preforming an acid catalyzed isomerization reaction on the CBD molecule. This is carried out with the CBD dissolved in a nonpolar organic solvent. The reaction cyclizes CBD into THC by closing the ring on the CBD molecule. The reaction goes from CBD to Delta 9-THC and then to Delta 8-THC. After the reaction is completed the solution must be "Washed" to remove acids used in the reaction. Washing also helps to remove many unwanted by-products formed during the reaction. It should also be noted that the wash shown in this video is a preliminary wash only. We preform other washes at later stages in the purification process.
