In this clip, Marc Porat opens up about the downfall of his marriage and his company.

For me, this is the film's most touching and poignant scene. The way the footage is edited together with Porat's narration and Benji Merrison's score is beautiful. Vulnerability is at the center of this story, and Porat's admission of his reason for participating in the film is powerful.

General Magic is a 2019 documentary about the company of the same name which set out to create the world's first smartphone in the early 1990s. The company was founded by Marc Porat and has been called "the most important company to come out of Silicon Valley that no one's ever heard of". The film is now available on various streaming services.
