Rolex 2020 New Releases! - New Submariner Line Up and More!!

The time has come and the new 2020 Rolex releases have been revealed. Let’s break them down and see how we feel.

We finally have a new Rolex Submariner, and this change has been coming for a while and is no surprise. The one thing that I did not expect was the change to a 41mm case. I am very surprised because in the world of Rolex one millimeter is a world of change. We will have to wait and see if it’s really bigger because they do these tricks where they resize the case and change the proportions, but by the time its done it still feels the same size as before. The last thing that I was expecting was for it to go up in size. The submariner has always been a great seller and just like the Rolex Daytona, it would never need a re-size because they have every single one sold before they are even completed. Another interesting point is that the trends of watches have been going smaller. I do not foresee trends going back down to 36mm but I was very surprised with an increase in size. Some people have mentioned that perhaps Rolex wanted to bridge the gap in sizes from 40mm to the 42mm. That way they could have the 39mm Explorer, 40mm GMT, 41mm Submariner, 42mm Explorer 2, 43mm SeaDweller and the 44mm Yachtmaster 2. If thats what they wanted I guess, but we will have to wait and see how it fits on the wrist. Some of the obvious changes are slimmer lugs, a wider bracelet, and a new movement.

The new color combinations are what captured the most attention with this reveal. There is a new White gold Rolex Submariner with black dial and blue bezel which I really like. I feel that was a combination that was necessary. Something new for the submariner line up! If they would have come out with it in steel I feel that it would have been terrible for the sales of the all blue white gold one. I am very pleased with this new color layout.

Rolex Submariner 126610LV
Enter the new Kermit. Rolex released a modern version of their beloved 16610LV aka the Kermit. This is a color layout that I really did not expect. Mostly because when they released the new GMT Pepsi jubilee I expected it because the Pepsi was so popular for so many years. With it out of production for so many years It was only natural to bring it back. The kermit was out not that long ago, and it was supposed to be the anniversary of the submariner, so when I saw that it caught me by surprise. Do I like it? Yes. I have always liked that combination and I am sure it will be a hit in the market.

Rolex OysterPerpetual 124300
This Rolex release happens to be one of the more colorful ones that I have witnessed. The release of the new 41mm Oyster Perpetual brought along some very colorful dial combinations. A wide range of color with some that caught my attention like the red and the yellow. The only one that I question is the one that is a bit similar to the Glacier Blue color that would usually be reserved for the Platinum models.
The new size case is nice and I like the layout of the dials with the double markers at 6 and 9. This model should be popular with the ladies and whoever wants some more color to there collection.

Rolex SkyDweller 326238, 326235
This year we got also the SkyDweller with an OysterFlex strap. That was an easy play for them because the model is already a popular one on the leather strap so it was only natural that there would give us the option for rubber on the Sky. I like it and it’s something that was long overdue.

Overall I would say that the star of the release was the New Roles Submariner. It was the main focus and in my opinion, this is why they did not want to release too many different options and just focus on the iconic Submariner. My favorite release is the new white gold Submariner with the Blue/Black combination.
