Angelina Jordan | Your Day Will Come - WAITENING | modified lyrics - Angels to AJ

In Angelina Jordan's "10 Years in the Making" documentary (March 2024) produced by her Mom Sara, Angelina coined a new term, "WAITENING", which seems to mean a joyful, adrenaline filled and exciting anticipation of an event (thanks to Bob Palmer for the suggested amended definition!). It occurred to me it would be fun to find a song with a story and lyrics that could be modified to incorporate the idea of waitening - and "Our Day Will Come" seems perfect. The modified lyrics are intended to be something we angels would sing to AJ - and are shown on screen in this video, while Angelina sings the traditional lyrics at her iconic concert at age 11, at Proysenfestivalen on July 21, 2017. This seems appropriate to the moment, that is, Angelina seemingly on the cusp of breaking into broad public awareness - it seems her time will come, possibly quite soon.

The song was composed by Mort Garson w/lyrics by Bob Hilliard, and the R&B group Ruby & the Romantics’s recording hit #1 on the Billboard 100 in Dec 1962. Amy Winehouse recorded it for her debut album in 2002, but her version wasn't released until Nov 2011.
