Oh St. Pat's Day, how we yearn for you year-round. It's really a shame we don't drink more Irish Whiskey. It's just something that gets buried under the mountain of bourbon (and other spirits) we go through. However, we hearby pledge to drink more Irish whiskey from henceforth! Because of that pledge, we decided we should try out some of our go-to and readily available Irish Whiskies. Now, let's be clear: We are not even scratching the surface of what's blessing our gullets from the good isle of Ireland. But, we think you can rest assured you'll find one of these four in almost any bar. We came in with preconceived notions about this with Bushmills and Michael Collins being what we expected to come out on top. Yet it was the humble bottle of Tullamore Dew Irish whiskey that was raised to first place for both of us. Jameson, oh Jameson. That simply didn't fair well. Best used for shots in our opinion, that bottle just fell flat. We'll leave on that note with two honorable mentions so you don't think it's that we hate all Jameson whiskey. Honorable mention number one: Jameson Black Barrel Irish Whiskey. That juice is dang delicious. Honorable mention number two: Proper Twelve Irish Whiskey. It may feel like a gimmick when you're walking out of the store with a celebrity bottle, but once it hits your lips you'll put all those thoughts out of your head. A solid choice in Irish whiskey. Cheers!
