80's Commercials Vol. 1110

Описание к видео 80's Commercials Vol. 1110

These commercials aired on KOFY on February 12th, 1989

1. "Ghostbusters" Commercial Bumper (AKA the not Real Ghostbusters, AKA the one with the monkey)
2. Ice-T Official Phone Line (Amazing! Apologies for the audio glitching)
3. Roy Orbison Greatest Hits (He died in December of 1988 at age 52, only two months before this aired)
4. "Ghostbusters" Commercial Bumper
5. "Ghostbusters" Ending (Wow, what a surprise that the character named "Prime Evil" is not such a nice guy after all. This clip also answers the age old question, "what if Piglet from Winnie The Pooh was actually a bat?")
6. "Ghostbusters" End Credits (I had an official VHS tape with several episodes of this cartoon on it that I think my mom had bought for me thinking it was "The Real Ghostbusters", which was my favorite show at the time. It isn't the worst cartoon ever made but it certainly was not what I wanted to see at the time)
7. Promo for "Perry Mason"
8. KOFY Free Speech Message
9. KOFY TV20 Station ID (This station was sort of famous for these ID's featuring dogs)
10. Marvel Action Universe Intro
11. "Spider-Man" Commercial Bumper (The "Spider-Man" cartoon shown here was the 1981 series that originally aired on NBC. Episodes of NBC's "Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends" were also aired in this block)
12. Cocoa Pebbles
13. Fashion Star Fillies
14. KOFY 1050 AM (In Super Stereo. This most likely employed C-QUAM AM stereo broadcasting: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C-QUAM which most AM/FM car stereos supported by the late 80's)
15. KOFY TV20 Calendar PSA
16. Ramm's Furniture
17. Black History Notes PSA (With Nichelle Nichols talking about Nelson Mandela. Mandela was still in prison at the time this aired but there was growing public support and calls for his release. He was granted unconditional release almost exactly one year to the day after this aired on 2/11/90 after spending 27 years in prison and was eventually elected the first President of South Africa in 1994)
18. 1989 Ford Escort
19. "Spider-Man" Commercial Bumper
20. Fruity Pebbles (With free Bedrock Glow Slate)
21. KOFY Homeless Help-A-Thon PSA (With Paul Kantner of Jefferson Airplane)
22. KOFY TV20 Calendar PSA
23. Marvel Action Universe Interstitial (Featuring scenes from "Dino-Riders" and "Robocop")
24. Promo for "Fatal Passions"
25. Worthington Chevrolet
26. KOFY TV20 Station ID (Nice drool)
27. Marvel Action Universe Intro
28. "Dino-Riders" Commercial Bumper
29. Sports Illustrated (Featuring "Basketball Bloopers" VHS tape)
30. Dean Martin's Greatest Hits
31. Starting Lineup Action Figures (The trading card that came with the Michael Jordan figure is apparently worth thousands if in near mint condition)
32. Alpha-Bits (With Free Cartoon Character toys)
33. Ramm's French Gallery (Is that supposed to be a French accent?)
34. KOFY Homeless Help-A-Thon PSA (With Bob Hope. It's interesting to see footage of him as "normal 85 year old man" and not made up for TV)
35. "Dino-Riders" Commercial Bumper
36. "Blood, Sweat & Gears" on VHS (Can be seen here:    • Blood Sweat & Gears HQ  )
37. The Diamond Center (I grew up in the Bay Area and regularly watched KOFY so I saw these cheesy local ads for this store featuring this guy Paul for almost my entire childhood. I'm not actually sure if they aired on other local stations besides KOFY)
38. Headlines Sweetheart Sale
39. Marvel Action Universe Interstitial (Featuring scenes from "Robocop")
40. "Dino-Riders" End Credits
