"Garbage-Free Delhi": Ghazipur Waste-Pickers Say What's In It For Us?: MCD Polls Ground Report

MCD Election 2022: Ghazipur landfill became the poll pitch for this MCD elections and with only a few days in hand, political parties are promising a garbage-free Delhi. However, little do we know what the waste-pickers want. Charulata Biswas from the Indian Express visited a Ghazipur slum cluster to talk to the waste-pickers. Besides encountering the dirty lanes with drainage water spilling into homes and lack of access to clean water, many living in the slum said that the closure of landfill will impact their livelihood drastically.
