Bivvy Snow Overnighter | Dakota Fire | Carinthia Observer | Winter Bushcraft | Primus Omnilite TI

In temperatures around freezing we begin our adventure with a hike along waterfalls in the forests of southern Germany. The melting snow is constantly dripping from the trees. As we gain altitude, the temperatures drop and the forests becomes more and more white. On the summit we find a good spot to set up our camp site. We heat Bundeswehr EPA military rations on a Primus Omnilite TI multifuel stove and protect ourselves from the dripping water with a poncho A-frame shelter. Next, we dig a Dacote fire pit and set up our Carinthia Observer Bivvy Bags. We change the shelter to a diamond shape and light a fire in Dakota fire hole. After spending the evening by the crackling fire and snowfall we enter our Bivvy bags which are already covered with snow.


The next morning we get up, prepare some coffee on the multifuel stove and eat some quick breakfast.We break camp and make sure to leave no trace. We hike back through the deep snow and see some deer tracks.
