Noel & Zebib Nay Hamawti

In the tigringa tradition 3 days after a wedding, the close family members of the bride officially come back to visit their daughter to say their goodbyes for the last time. This ceremony is called 'Melsi' or simply Hamawti where the close family members of both /groom and bride/ get together and embrace each other and share food and drinks and a lot of dances. In the diaspora community however, the melsi is often done next from the wedding day usually on Sunday because guests don't live in proximity to each other and are not free on days of the week and hence squeeze everything on sunday.
