Licensed practical nurses (LPN), also known as licensed vocational nurses (LVN) earned an average salary of $45,710 per year and $21.98 per hour in the United States in 2017, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

If you're an LPN, you might be thinking to yourself, "I earn more (or less) than those numbers!" However, you have to keep in mind that those numbers are only averages. LPN income figures can vary, depending on factors such as state, industry, experience, specialty, job demand, and much more.

LPN employment is expected to grow. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, LPN / LVN employment "is expected to grow by 12% between years 2016-2026, faster than the average for all occupations."
