On 03/29/20 at around 7:20 PM, the Lake County Sheriff's Office was following a stolen vehicle out of Illinois in Wisconsin. The Pleasant Prairie, WI Police Department attempted to pursue the vehicle westbound on 85th St from 30th Ave, but discontinued the chase due to unsafe conditions. Then, two Pleasant Prairie police officers spotted the vehicle entering southbound on WI-31 from 85th St. The officers attempted to stop the vehicle but it continued southbound at speeds over 100 mph. An officer setup at the state line deployed spike strips, and the vehicle crossed the spike strips prior to entering Illinois. Officers continued to pursue the vehicle as it entered Illinois. Eventually, the suspect vehicle struck another vehicle on Green Bay Rd just north of IL-173 in Zion. The driver of the vehicle that was struck was transported to a hospital with minor injuries. The suspect of the stolen vehicle, a 17-year-old boy, fled the scene on foot and was arrested by police shortly after.
