Shimano Vanford Spinning Reels are the result of over a decade of engineering and a long line of predecessors. Shimano started by building the Vanford on a CI4+ body to make it lightweight and rigid, then incorporated a MagnumLife (MGL) rotor for quick responses in critical situations. It also features a HAGANE Gear, SilentDrive, and MicroModule Gear II technologies to produce an unseen level of smooth rotational performance while reducing overall reel vibration. Long Stroke Spool Technology has also been incorporated to increase casting distance and produce smoother line lay on the spool during retrieval. Water resistance and durability is maximized with X-Protect technology and water-channeling construction. The Vanford was built to be the ultimate spinning reel, and it looks like Shimano has succeeded!
