Описание к видео Measures of disadvantage webinar 29th June 2021

How can universities best measure socio-economic disadvantage?

How well do commonly used markers, such as FSM, POLAR, ACORN and IMD, relate to long run family income?

This event will explore how best to measure disadvantage, through an overview of the Sutton Trust’s recent Measuring Disadvantage report, from the author Professor John Jerrim (UCL Social Research Institute), followed by a panel discussion on best practice and challenges in access to data, with panellists including:

Chris Millward, Director of Fair Access and Participation at the Office for Students,
Dr Samina Khan, Director of Undergraduate Admissions and Outreach at the University of Oxford, and
Carys Fisher, Senior Policy Advisor at UCAS.

Who should attend?

The webinar will be of interest to anyone working in HE, particularly those working on admissions and/or access and participation. While the event will primarily focus on issues in universities, it may also be of interest to employers interested in improving socio-economic diversity.
