Описание к видео Phono Cartridge Comparison Pickering XSV 3000 vs Shure V15 Type IV

1977/1978
A comparison of two top models from Pickering and Shure.
The XSV/3000 was Pickering’s first stereo model using a line-contact “Stereohedron” stylus and a rare-earth samarium cobalt moving magnet.
The V15 Type IV was Shure’s upgrade to the best selling Type III. It was their first model using a hyper-elliptical stylus and a “high efficient” moving magnet.
Both models have similar performance specifications and while the Shure was priced $50.00 more than the Pickering, it did produce 67% less distortion playing high modulated recordings.
