Stop trying to remember salsa patterns. It doesn't matter if you dance salsa on 1 or salsa on 2, if you focus on patterns instead of moves, you'll overwhelm your brain and slow down your development. A focus on salsa patterns often leads to a lack of understanding of the building blocks, the individual moves and concepts, that create the more complex figures and patterns. Without knowledge of the individual pieces, you won't remember anything.
