Brendan Smith—The critical materials revolution

Brendan Smith, MIT PhD 2018, Co-founder and CEO of SiTration, gave the June 2023 Nano Explorations talk on low-cost & sustainable sourcing for global electrification.

Smith introduced the importance of critical materials to global electrification, and discuss SiTration's approach to providing a low-cost and sustainable process for extracting these materials from recycled lithium-ion batteries and waste streams in the mining sector. He also shared key learnings from SiTration's journey over the past three years since spinning out of MIT.
