As a student, you have been in the classroom for years. You know what kind of behavior is expected, and what kind of rules are fair.

Today we are going to tap into your expertise. Your mission is to create a set of 5 classroom agreements. These are norms that the teacher and students should follow. The agreements should focus on keeping the classroom a place where everyone can learn, and they should be beneficial for both the students and the teacher. You should think--if I was the teacher--what agreements and norms would be necessary to run a fun, fair and effective learning environment.

Your agreements can be broad or specific.

Perhaps number one could be: Treat others as you would like to be treated

And another one could be: come to class on time.

How broad or specific your agreements are are up to you. Just think about what kind of behavior is necessary to create a fun, fair, and effective learning environment for everyone.
