EGR ( air injection ) valve 1.8T Audi A6 Cleaning / Replacement C5 - P0401

A clogged EGR valve will give you a rough start and the engine will run rich in fuel at least at the beginning . So inspecting it and cleaning it / replacing it should be done in order to fix the issue. On this car the dirt and carbon build-up was so bad , that even after the EGR valve was submerged in gasoline it still did not open properly when tested with the vacuum hand pump .
