While many may have thought that Lucille and Desi would’ve had a happy marriage given the success of their creation, this was anything but the case. Desi was a thrill seeker who became bored during the height of the couple’s success and started trying to find excitement by engaging in alcohol abuse and extramarital affairs. Meanwhile, Lucille was simply trying her best to run their production company, Desilu Productions, and raise their two children.

After two decades of trying to make things work with Desi, Lucille had decided that she’d had enough. The two divorced in 1960, and Lucille remarried the next year to a comedian by the name of Gary Morton. Lucille and Gary would remain married until Lucille’s death in 1989. Several years after Lucille and Gary got married, Desi also found a new spouse. Desi’s new spouse was a woman by the name of Edith Hirsch, and they also remained married until being separated by death.
