The "Northen Belle" at Needham Market, 6th September 2024

An hour or so spent at Needham Market station watching the trains go by on Friday 6th September 2024. The primary reason for the trip was to capture the "Northern Belle" set being used on a wine and dine special around Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Norfolk during the afternoon. The locomotives used on this train were 47802 and 57313 in West Coast Rail Company house colours.

There appeared to be late running on trains working across from/to Cambridge & Ely on this day, with the 10:46 from Cambridge running over 50 minutes late. There was the usual mix of Greater Anglia Stadler sets including the now normal substitution of the Inter City 745s with Stansted Express 745 & 755 sets. Container trains seen were all operated by GBRf class 66 locomotives.
