We changed Eurovision; Eurovision didn’t change us: How the global spotlight on the UK city allowed the rest of the world to catch up to Liverpool.

Now the Eurovision baton has been passed to Sweden, we take time to reflect on Liverpool’s achievements and successes. While we knew we would deliver a spectacular and multifaceted festival and celebration for Eurovision, and most importantly Ukraine, the rest of the world waited in anticipation to see how it would be delivered by a city in the UK, hosting the party for a country at war. As partners rejoice in the glitter and glamour of the event, we reflect on how we shared the positives of Ukraine, celebrated culture, inspired a generation, and united us all by music.
