Nanban is Japanese-inspired pottery, it's a primitive and spontaneous pottery making style that gives simple pots reminiscent of nature, earth and fire. These Nanbans are bonsai pots that are often used for planting conifers. It's a perfect way how to make pottery without a wheel.
Today I show you how to make a primitive style pottery using clay coils. This ancient technique has been used by artisans for centuries to create unique character pieces.
