Good morning This is Paul Lemus born May 29th 1976 in Reno NV. I was called in originally as media to witness two criminal investigations that had led to a prosecutor actually filing criminal charges against one Beatty resident and another Amargosa resident for unclean yards. I went to the hearing and witnessed one of the most unfair unrealistic unimaginable hearings Every time the attorney objected it was overruled automatically. I had never seen such a distasteful event in court where justice is supposed to prevail. I then started reviewing into the case myself and doing some of my own field studies. I was able to track down the September 4th 2019 Board of County Commissioner meeting where just before Covid they had a meeting and called it a Chapter 1516 update. However the dialog between the nigh county Board of County Commissioners seemed odd some were trying to disclose additional stuff others were saying how it would not affect all the rural towns And then there was even one commissioner Donna Cox that referred to the town of Amargosa as Our Magosa I took all this information and I seemed to look at it as if there was some underhanded dealing or misrepresentation and misinforming information being said during that September 4th Board of County Commissioner meeting. I then studied the charges that the 2 alleged violators were brought up on they were all associated with something called the International Property Maintenance Code. When the International Property Maintenance Code was passed it seems as if at the same time a Mister Brett Wagner was also put in position. He's basically paid by the county to enforce all of these codes and more. I then started some research into Mr. Wagner and his history and what he had done and what type of human being he was. I had decided that I don't think that he necessarily supports our town or is in any way representing the best interest our town. The next thing I did was started to communicate with our town's people and see was this something that possibly should have been considered as a ballot measure. Rather than some outside jurisdiction forcing their hand in our local community, wouldn't this be better to just put on the ballot to avoid a lot of conflict dismay and even possible criminal now charges for nearly all rural community members. I'd like to say most of the time these types of situations can happen but when they do because if it's a public safety concern they would be brought up as civil. I quickly found out that our community was absolutely against it I then went to the archives at the UNL Library and started to research our community all the way back to win the State of Nevada was formed in 1864 period time and time again I was able to see how this town had been attacked. How it had constantly been tried to have been taken over from everybody associated with the US government on down to regulatory industries wildlife preservation specialists and just downright rude racist hatred filled individuals. I then decided that this was time to get together and make a stand. At this point I had been a real estate agent for over 28 years I feel that I know the difference between right and wrong and that I could stand up for my community and possibly make a difference. I attended the town board meeting where this was on the agenda there was three people present and they could have put it to rest at that meeting. But I kept watching I kept seeing the agenda sizing of our own town board. I'd like to say not all board members however there was definitely two that were in collusion with the board of County Commissioner that was discussed at the meeting and at the same time they were all working towards their own agenda to shove this down every Amargosians throat and make us all criminals.
