Various 1950s rock music recordings of "Guitar Boogie Shuffle" are credited to Arthur Smith based on his 1945 recording "Guitar Boogie", a twelve-bar boogie-style blues similar though somewhat different from earlier recordings, including "Guitar Boogie" by Roosevelt Graves from 1929 and "Pinetop's Boogie Woogie", a piano piece by Pinetop Smith from 1928.
