Main Bhi Bharat - Tribes of Assam: Bodo tribe (Part 1)

This episode of Main Bhi Bharat deals with the issue of tribal aspirations and formation of Bodo Territorial Council. In 2003, the Bodo Territorial Council was formed after an agreement between the central government, Assam government and Bodo Liberation Tigers.
According to this agreement, this council got protection under Schedule 6 of the Indian Constitution and about 40 departments were supposed to be transferred to the council. Subsequently, 39 departments have been transferred to this council and four districts come under its jurisdiction. But employment opportunities, literacy rate and other issues are matter of concern. There are many issues related to non Bodo tribes and non tribals, which needs attention.
