YEREVAN, ARMENIA - In a country that is known for their meat and BBQ, there are a number of vegan/vegetarian options that are arising to provide locals and tourists options to indulge in delicious plant based dishes. Come with me today as we explore the vegan scene in the beautiful capital of Yerevan on this first part of my modern vegan food tour in Armenia.

Here are the vegan Armenian restaurants I ate at on this food tour:

Jengylov Hac: Located on Teryan Street in Yerevan, this is a classic and simple restaurant that serves one item, Zhingyalov Hat. This reminds me of street food. I love this dish and its extremely inexpensive. Total price - $700 dram ($1.47)

12 Tables: Located on Alexander Spendiaryan Street, this is a small, quaint restaurant located underground. They have a few vegan items and many vegetarian items. My favorite dishes there include the soups and vegan burger. Total price $2300 dram ($4.82)

Gouroo Club & Garden: Located on the artisan street Saryan Street in Yerevan, this is a must have when you visit Yerevan. The concept of the restaurant is very unique and one of a kind in Armenia. Highly quality chefs and a wide variety of options for plant based eaters. The cauliflower steak is life changing. Total price: 3,000 dram ($6.29)
