Years ago, in the bustling city of Varanasi, lived a snake charmer who earned his living by performing tricks with his snake and monkey. During a seven-day festival, the snake charmer decided to partake in the celebrations. He left his monkey with a friend who owned a vast cornfield. The farmer took good care of the monkey, ensuring it was well-fed and happy.

After the seven days, the snake charmer returned, still under the influence of the festival's excitement and intoxication. He collected his monkey from the farmer and, without any reason, struck it thrice with a thick bamboo stick. Then, he tied the monkey to a tree near his house and fell asleep on a nearby cot, still in a drunken stupor.

The monkey's knot was loose, and with little effort, it freed itself and climbed up a nearby tree. When the snake charmer awoke and found the monkey gone, he tried to coax it down with sweet words, saying, "Come here, my good monkey! Come here, my great monkey!"

The monkey, however, replied, "Oh snake charmer, your praises are in vain, for monkeys are not meant to be great." With that, the monkey leaped away, leaving the snake charmer to lament his actions.

Moral of the Story:
