The Luckiest Speedrun | FFCC Any% in

This run is pretty close to what I think is realistically possible right now. I definitely made some minor mistakes, but it's never going to be perfect. I'm incredibly happy.

Do I dare say that Any% is dead? This could have been a 1:42 after all...

Explanation of glitches/strategies used here:

-There's nothing fancy about the dungeon route. We just try to progress through each in-game year using the fastest available dungeons. In year 5 we obtain the ??? element, go to Veo Lu Sluice to repair the river, then go to the end of the game in Mount Vellenge.

-In Marr's Pass after the first dungeon of the game I use two glitches on the GBA's letter menu known as the "Infinite Gil Glitch" (IGG) and "GBA Equip Swap" (GES). These glitches are exclusive to the Japanese version. IGG allows me to duplicate gil which I then use to craft warriors weapons. I then use GES to equip these weapons over my gloves and accessory armor slots. Doing this grants me an absurd amount of STR (85+) in year 1 of the game which trivializes everything from there onward. 95 STR is the effective cap on STR (99 technically, but 95-99 is the same in reality).

-GES only works with specific letters and a specific character name. To target this letter as early as possible, I start the game with 2 characters. This basically just causes player 2's character to get the letter I need right after the first dungeon allowing me to do the glitch ASAP. This is why I switch to only using the second character after the first dungeon; the first character is abandoned. Player 2's name is 2 JP symbols with 2 spaces at the end of it; this is important because if it did not have this specific name then the glitch would not work.

-Yes, I am controlling both characters by myself. I use one hand per controller for most of the first dungeon. A glitch known as sign glitch (activated by reading a sign and then taking damage) is used in River Belle Path in order for me to push my player 1 character very fast by running into him with the player 2 character. I also try to do this in the miasma stream after the dungeon.

-Lilty is used in this run primarily because it is able to do GBA Equip Swap earlier and more efficiently than other tribes. It is able to equip 3 weapons and mythril armor all in the first trip to Marr's Pass with the setup I use here. Its warriors weapon is also very good against the meteor parasite. Before GBA Equip Swap we would generally prefer to play Selkie, but that was in large part due to us also acquiring the master's weapon in old routes which is no longer necessary.
