The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II or il salotto di Milano, oldest active shopping gallery. Galleria is named after Victor Emmanuel II, the first king of the Kingdom of Italy. It was designed and built by architect Giuseppe Mengoni between 1865 and 1877.

Porta Sempione ("Simplon Gate"), Arco della Pace ("Arch of Peace") a city gate of Milan, Italy. The origins of this gate can be traced back to a gate of the Roman walls of Milan.
