About the project:
Voice Notes from the Kitchen is a collection of intimate audio memories – recorded voice notes and snippets of conversations that complement the culinary anthology, Memories on a Plate, a celebration of food, nostalgia and storytelling curated by The Alipore Post and Nivaala.

The book celebrates the profound connection between food, memories, and culture by weaving together personal anecdotes, memories, essays, recipes, art, poetry, and photo essays from 100 food memories from Indian kitchens around the world. An ode to those who have lovingly fed and nourished us.

Each audio memory has been recorded by the contributor, and adds a more immersive and personal layer to the memory they’ve shared, and added as QR codes in the book. A continuation of the oral traditions around food and storytelling.
