I keep both a solid and a wide vented head in my quiver. Each has its purpose and application. The solid head is deadly accurate and whisper quiet out of my bow to ranges way beyond what I would ever shoot, but it does have a smaller cutting diameter. The Wide vented head carries a much larger cutting diameter but does make quite a bit more noise in flight and has a little more drag out at the further ranges. Its a balancing act to chose which head will work best for your application.
