Video #15, 1951 Graded FOB Proof set

This Video is a continuation of "My Journey" into British Historical Coins and is the 3rd Video of my George VI Historic Proof Sets.

The Royal Mint (prior to 1971) only minted Proof/Specimen sets to mark special occasions, especially Coronations, however, the 1950 Proof Set was minted to mark the Half way mark of the Century which was deemed a Special event with the last of George VI's sets being 1951 Festival of Britain Proof set to mark the "coming out of austerity" after the end of WWII.

This was the last of the George VI Proof sets as he Died in 1952 with Queen Elizabeth the Second coming to the throne marked by her Coronation Proof Set in 1953.
