Well folks, buckle up. This vlog is a long one BUT it is very near and dear to our hearts. We are finally sharing our MCADD story on the vlog.

Expanded newborn screening saved our sons life!

One tiny prick and a drop of blood is what kept my son here with us. About 1 in every 15,000 babies is born with his specific disorder, MCADD. About 1 in every 70 Caucasians is a carrier for MCADD. When both parents are carriers there is a 25% chance for their baby to have MCADD. With prompt treatment children with MCADD live healthy lives. Never underestimate your local hospital. If it weren't for Southwest Medical Center (Liberal, KS) we wouldn't have our fun loving little boy here with us today!

We will forever be indebted to SWMC, Driscoll Children's Hospital, Dr. Husainy, Dr. Jessica Acevedo-Gracia and London’s team of geneticists at both OU Children's Hospital in the earlier years and now at Texas Children’s Hospital.
