My Facebook friend Jackie V, aka Jackie Orzechowski, is a fun person to know. She's maybe 22, if not younger, she's funny, friendly, and upbeat, and she's just a big bucket of talent -- in painting, cosmetology, and taking selfies. She already has a catalog of 100 paintings, sketches, etc., which you can (and should) check out here:

. . . Can you see how she's already quite good, but hasn't really hit her ultimate "genius streak" yet? She's nowhere as good as she's GOING to be, if she keeps working at it!
Yet, already, she has so many pieces I like, that if I lived in a mansion, I'd gladly buy 8 to 10 pieces to decorate the place with. I once described her work as "the spirit of youth, with a touch of morbidity to it, which turns me on", and she thanked me for that, as if it's exactly what she intended.
But the really fun part is . . . She's a pretty big fan of The Cars. Yes, this hot college chick is into The Cars! How rare is that?!? I mean, she can rattle off their lyrics and everything.
Now, a young woman who likes the Cars, and can paint, is going to paint their deceased bassist/vocalist Benjamin Orr in his prime years. That's just inevitable. But I must be heterosexual or something, because staring at pics of Benjamin Orr doesn't do anything for me. So I asked her if I could commission (pay her to do) a specific kind of piece: I wanted a portrait of Ric Ocasek as he looks today, in his late 60s. I wanted to see his age. I wasn't sure a beautiful young woman like Jackie could pull it off, but she welcomed the challenge, and got it done quite quickly, for a fair price.
I've already asked her if sometime, in the next 12 months, she could do a certain Lou Reed pic for me. I think her talent is growing.
