Semiconductors and lasers were created based on the principles of quantum physics, and in the late 20th century, nano and digital technologies revolutionized information and communication technology. This is called the first quantum revolution because quantum physics is only responsible for the material hardware. The second quantum revolution is now underway, applying quantum principles to software and operating systems beyond hardware. New technologies are being created that utilize the properties of quantum states such as coherence, superposition, and entanglement.
