After the boy in red hair takes off, Celebi will teleport you to a cave of some sort, where Giovanni is confined and listening to a broadcast on the radio, explaining that Team Rocket has taken over the Radio Tower in Goldenrod City. After a brief conversation, you’ll have a battle with Giovanni. Nidoking will use Focus Energy to boost its critical hit ratio, which will make Shadow Claw more easily deal a critical hit. Kangaskhan will use Dizzy Punch for a 20% chance of confusing the target and Sucker Punch to strike first. Honchkrow will use Swagger to confuse the target and Dark Pulse for a 20% chance of making the target flinch. Nidoqueen will use Earth Power for a 10% chance of lowering the target’s Special Defense stat and Superpower to deal great damage but lower the user’s own Attack and Defense stats. After the battle, Giovanni will leave, and you’ll be warped back to the Ilex Forest in the present time.
